Kane hat-trick puts Blackhawks in Stanley Cup

Patrick Kane scored a hat-trick tonight, including the double overtime winner, as the Chicago Blackhawks beat the defending champion Los Angeles Kings at the United Center.  The Blackhawks had the game all but wrapped up in regulation, but an equaliser from Mike Richards just 10 seconds from time brought the game into overtime and silenced the raucous home crowd.

It took another one and a half periods but hat-trick hero Kane gave the crowd reason to celebrate as his third goal of the night won the Western Conference for his side.

Chicago will now take on the Boston Bruins for the Stanley Cup with Game 1 going on Wednesday at the United Center at 8pm E.T.
