Tyrone star Sean Cavanagh apologised to the Tyrone supporters for their awful display in Killarney last Sunday. The Kingdom ran riot in the second half, holding Tyrone to just a point while scoring 3-7. The game was level at half time at 0-8 each. The defeat was the heaviest in Mickey Harte’s long tenure.
People have been quick to write off Tyrone but this is a young and emerging team who reached the league final last year losing to Dublin narrowly. They exited the championship at the hands of Mayo but gave the Connacht champions a torrid opening 30 minutes. Write them off at your peril.
One person who won’t be impressed with Cavanagh’s apology will be Paul Galvin. After Jamie Clarke took to Twitter to apologise for UUJ’s loss to UCC, Paul Galvin was quick to dismiss it as weak. (see the link belwo) Sean Cavanagh will probably escape the public lashing due to the nature of the rivalry between the two counties and his higher profile than Clarke but the thought is probably there.
